Best hiking spots in Kuala Lumpur

Bukit Tabur

Located just outside Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Tabur is a popular hiking spot known for its panoramic views. The trail is challenging, with steep ascents and rocky terrain, but the breathtaking vistas of the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge and the city skyline make it worthwhile.

Broga Hill

Located about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur in Semenyih, Broga Hill is a popular spot for sunrise hikes. The trail is relatively easy and rewards hikers with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and nearby oil palm plantations.

Kanching waterfall (templer park)

Kanching Waterfall is a popular waterfall and recreational area located in Rawang, which is about a 30-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur. It consists of a series of seven cascades, each with its own unique charm. The cascades vary in size and height, offering picturesque views and tranquil surroundings.
Several of the cascades at Kanching Waterfall form natural pools where visitors can swim and cool off in the refreshing waters. It’s a great place to relax, splash around, or simply enjoy the beauty of the waterfall.

Sungai Pisang Waterfall

This hike takes you through the lush forest near the Batu Caves. The route follows the winding path of Sungai Gombak and Sungai Pisang, and takes you through a series of tunnels that pass under the Karak Highway. As you walk the trail, you’ll be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, with the gentle flow of the river and chirping birds creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
The highlight of the hike is the spectacular Banana Falls, where you can cool off and take a refreshing swim in the clear water. Several of the cascades at Kanching Waterfall form natural pools where visitors can swim and cool off in the refreshing waters. It’s a great place to relax, splash around, or simply enjoy the beauty of the waterfall.

Sungai Lepoh Waterfall

This place is 1 hour drive from KL. The trekking to the waterfall takes 2 hours. The track is clear and easy in most parts, but some parts are quite steep.There is a big waterfalls on the top and several smaller ones on the way up.  Make sure to go early and wear good shoes and brings plenty of water. The trekking back takes 1 hour

Bukit Batu Putih

Bukit Batu Putih is a 200 million years old quartz ridge located in the historic Tanjung Tuan Recreational Forest. Tanjung Tuan Forest Reserve.

Chiling Waterfall

Chiling Waterfall is one of the most spectacular and impressive waterfalls in Selangor. To get there you need to walk for about an hour and wade across the Chiling River five times so you need to have a sense of adventure and not mind getting wet. When you finally reach the waterfall (actually three falls) it is well worth the effort.

Chiling Waterfall is located in a reserve called the Sungai Chiling Fish Sanctuary, a fisheries research project run by the Selangor State Fisheries Department.
